โ€ข Application to identify and help the citizens to determine if the waste is organic (degradable) or not.

โ€ข Gamified ๐Ÿค˜ the application in order to promote sanitation and help citizens earn extra benefits additionally

โ€ข IoT based stick ๐Ÿ‘จโ€๐Ÿฆฏ for detection of wetness of garbage.

Why we choose this? ๐Ÿค”

There are few things certain in life ๐Ÿง˜ โ€“ death, change and waste.

These aspects are inevitable but with better management we can prepare ourselves. ๐Ÿ—‘๏ธ Waste Management in ๐Ÿ‡ฎ๐Ÿ‡ณ Indian cities has emerged as a major concern over the past few years. The rise in urban population and economic growth in the absence of an effective management mechanism has manifested in the current state of solid waste management in Indian cities which is far from perfect. Given the present situation, the quantum of waste generated in cities, especially larger ones with higher population is expected to increase. Greater attention needs to be paid towards devising appropriate and effective mechanisms for waste treatment and disposal in urban centres. And monitor the use of banned plastic.

To solve this problem it is necessary to take meticulous measures when segregating and transporting waste. Segregation of waste in a proper manner brings the limelight to actual economic value of the waste.

The most challenging ๐Ÿ’ช aspect of the problem would be to make a dataset required to detect ๐Ÿ‘€ if the waste is segregated and to identify the use of banned plastic in the dumped waste. It is suffice to say that we require a more stringent integrated and strategic waste prevention framework to effectively address waste related issues. There is a need to systematically analyze the strengths and weaknesses of the community as well as the municipal corporation, based on which an effective waste management system can be evolved. So, in our effort to create an intelligent system and support the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, we have choosen this problem and worked on it.

Solution ๐Ÿ˜Ž

We have developed ๐Ÿ™‡๐Ÿผโ€โ™‚๏ธ an automated recognition system using Deep learning Algorithm in Artificial Intelligence to classify objects as Biodegradable, Non-Biodegradable, Dry, Wet, E-waste or Biohazard waste, where the system once trained with a self made dataset ๐Ÿฅณ, can identify objects at real-time โฑ๏ธ and classify them almost accurately.

Based on this classification, the nearby community will be notified whether the dumped waste from their locality is segregated or not as well as inform them about the presence of banned plastic in the classified waste.

The civic bodies and the government will get a smart management system where they will be able to see the rating of each community based on their practise of waste segregation and use of banned plastic. The actors will also be able to notify the communities if they disobey the solid waste management norms prescribed by the government.
